Student Testimonials

This month was exciting.  I like the chapter on the Digestive System, so many things that I didn't know.  The Urinary System was also very knowledgable.
Some of the words were not as bad as other previous weeks.  I'm enjoying this class.  I don't think I want to graduate.  I love to learn so many different things.
Thanks Maura for being so patient with me.  -Teresa

I learned alot last month.  I am very pleased with the infomation I am given to help me out in the field and lab time we get.
I feel confident about giving shots and taking vitals.
I have one month left but I can say now that I am glad I chose this school for medical assisting.
I have met Great people and made awesome friends.
Again, as always, thanks you Maura for being the wonderful teacher you are!  -Sandra

Mod 5...wow, wow, wow! i really enjoyed this module especially the nervous system & integumentary system.
Now as for the healthcare coverage & assisting with medications,
not as much but i know how very important these chapters will be to our future though.
I personally find everything out of the medical terminology book highly beneficial for our future use in the medical field.
The medical assisting as well,but I find that all office rules & regulations will be different for each Dr./office/clinics,
this is why I find it great that we mainly cover the basics, especially being that the workbook to the MA hardbook is so misleading.
Thank you Maura for helping us always to understand it better!  -Alexis

I really enjoyed my first module here at AVCC.  I feel like I have really great classmates & you are a wonderful teacher Maura.
Overall, I learned a lot in Module 5 about the nervous system & parts of the brain.
I also learned a lot medical assisting and insurance that will really help me out in the medical field.  Aside from learning things
out of the text, Maura is also very good with teaching us hands on in the lab & sharing her own everyday experiences in the field
it is a great help in preparing us to go out into the medical field.  -Jerica

In this module, I learned about the Nervous System, Professional Communication, Integumentary System,
Healthcare Coverage and Assisting with Medication.  It was a lot to absorb in a short period of time, I got through it.
Mora is a great teacher and helps out when you need that extra help.
Everything I learned will be useful once I become a Medical Assistant.
I hope to continue learning alot more. -Leticia

I truly enjoy Maura as an instructor, and as each week passes, I feel closer to her and my classmates.
Only having 4 more months to go is kind of scary though and I'll miss everyone.
They're like an extension to my family! -Deanna

Learning about all the different conditions in each section was always fun and there's no better way to
learn than to have fun while you're learning.  Most important  I've learned how to deal with people.
The staff and students are all very friendly.  My training here at AVCC will benefit me more than
anything in the social aspect.  I really have opened up and have grown up a bit in the last month.
I'm looking forward to the next module.  I'm sure I will
enjoy it. -Shawna

The first week  of this module, I was very happy to learn a lot more general sickness.  I've heard other people talk about when they had to use
"that thing you blow in" and I know its a peak flowmeter.  Learning how the digestive track works in the second week will be very valuable information
I will take with me.  However the third week was very helpful for me and I learned even more, because I was going through having an IVP done.  The
experience alone made me really want to understand how the urinary tract works.  The fourth week explained all the difficult tests and I am starting to
understand that there is a method to doctors madness.  I have learned so much these last few months.  I know that this will help me to be
instrumental in providing comfort and compassion to those in need as I perform my duties and obligations as an M.A.- Evelyn

I enjoy coming to class and seeing all my peers.  It makes my day and there is never a dull moment. Although I have one month left in the classroom and is excited about coming closer to graduation, I'm going to miss all the beautiful people, and the good laughs I get when I come to school after a long day of work.  -Inga

Well this module was almost like a mod 5, grade wise I  got 1 A, 2 Bs and 1 C.  I am doing my best to learn everything I can.  It's been only 4 months and it flew by!!  I'm going to try to make a goal from now on to get As and Bs on my last 2 months!!  No more Cs!  I really enjoyed Ch. 14 in the MA book.  It made it clearer about examination procedures and about the records.  I'm glad I have a wonderful teacher, classmates and school.  I should have done this sooner! -Helen
